Perhaps there is less place in Qeshm Island and even in Iran that has been made as interesting and audible stories as the Valley of Stars. The natives of Qeshm and the whole island have made many interesting and sometimes scary stories about this valley. According to the natives of Qeshm, ghosts live among the rocks of this valley! Of course, if you spend a few hours, especially during the night, in this part of Qeshm Geopark and hear the roar of the wind blowing between the rocks, you will understand the root of this belief.

The ghost stories of this valley are not the only myths prevalent among the island’s natives. The people of Qeshm believe that in the past, behind a dark night, the stars fell from the sky to the ground of this valley and caused strange shapes in this valley. Apparently, it was based on this belief that this valley is known as the Valley of Stars.

But aside from local beliefs and myths, geologists and researchers have provided scientific evidence for the shape and geography of the Valley of Stars. According to these scientists, scientifically, this valley has been formed due to the erosion of surface waters and seasonal showers over several million years.

Most of the rocks in Star Valley are made of limestone cement and sandstone. Therefore, over time, the wind has had a significant effect on the formation of these amazing shapes in the mountains and cliffs.

There are amazing sights in Qeshm Geopark, especially in Valley of Stars, with the beginning of the night, the sky gets so close to the ground that it creates a festival of bright stars. Of course, in order to enjoy the night sky in this valley, you must have already obtained a permit from the Geopark.

 

Access to Valley of Stars

Valley of Stars

Valley of Stars is located 20 km from Qeshm, on the road to Khorbas Caves, near the village of Berke Khalaf. On the exit road of this village, a path of about half a kilometer leads to the valley.

Due to the hot weather in mid-spring to late summer, it is better to spend the autumn, winter, and early spring to watch the wonders of this amazing valley.
