Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH)
The most religiously sacred place for Iranian Muslims, the burial place of the eighth holy Imam of the Shiite, holy shrine of Imam Reza is matchless in beauty and architecture and is basically one of the largest mosques in the world hosting Shiite rituals and important religious ceremonies. This magnificent complex is also home to Goharshad Mosque, Astan-e Qods, museum, a large library, a traditional cemetery as well as a dining hall for the pilgrims.

Tomb of Nader Shah
Nader Shah (1736-1747) is one of the most famous kings in Iranian history and the last powerful emperor of Iran who was born in Mashhad and chose this city as his capital and was assassinated and buried there! Built inside a beautiful garden close to Imam Reza Holy Shrine, opened in 1963 including a 12-step stage, a tomb, a tent-like shelter over the tomb and a statue representing Nader Shah riding a horse, Nader Shah Mausoleum also exhibits objects belonging to Nader Shah Era.

Tomb of Ferdowsi
The great epic writer of Persian literature, the creator of grand epic of Shahnameh, Hakim Abul Qasem Ferdowsi was born and buried in the city of Tous. Shahnameh, as one of the greatest verse epics in the world literature, contains around 60000 verses taking 30 years from Ferdowsi to finish wherein the mythic history of Iran from the beginning to the Arab invasion in 7th century CE is recounted.

Astan-e Qods-e Razavi Museum
Located in Imam Khomeini courtyard inside holy shrine of Imam Reza, one of the most precious and interesting museums in the Islamic world, and upon the decision made to preserve the treasures dedicated to Imam Reza shrine, the museum enjoys 11 specialized sections housing treasured Qurans, stamp collections, carpets, weapons, plates, medals, bank notes, astrological tools, to name some.

Tomb of Attar
Attar of Nishapur (1145-1221), the well-known Iranian mystic, poet and a prolific writer on religious subjects and Sufism, was born in Nishapur. Fragmented in previous records and his lifestyle, it is said that Attar completely changed and severed all earthly ties when he bumped into a dervish! His tomb in Nishapur draws many Persian literature lovers.

Tomb of Khayyam
An Iranian scholar, a poet as well as a mathematician, Hakim Omar Khayyam (1048-1131), whose tomb is in Nishapur, managed to compile astronomical tables and contributed significantly to calendar reform. His influence on Persian literature and his literary works having been translated into other languages have made him known across the globe.
