Tour Itinerary :

EXCURSION TO PERSEPOLIS AND PASARGADAE
Persepolis was the ceremonial capital of Achaemeinds selected by the Darius the Great. The huge columns, well-preserved bas-reliefs, huge griffins and gigantic tombs carved into cliffs are among the attractions of the Persepolis. Close to Persepolis there is a necropolis, Naqsh-e Rostam, which houses tombs of four Achaemenid Emperors carved into the cliff. In addition to the tombs, there are some bas-reliefs illustrating Sassanid kings and their glories, Naqsh-e Rajab (224-651CE). After visiting necropolis we head towards Pasargadae, the first capital city of Achaemenids where Cyrus the Great, defeated the Medes and founded Achaemenid Empire. Here, we pay a visit to Cyrus the Great’s tomb. Then, we drive back to Shiraz to visit the tomb of Sa’adi (14th century), one of the greatest Persian poets famous for its wisdom and deep world knowledge.
